Let's Do This!

Project Manager:  Sally Kaplan, Specialty Educational Service Provider

Let’s Do This! was created by Sally Kaplan, Educational Service provider, in response to an urgent need that arose when Calaveras County’s beloved Clinic, Mind Matters, closed its doors in December 2020. The intent is to continue to serve community members in and around Calaveras County with programming that was developed and run through Mind Matters Clinic.

Let’s Do This! offers educational programs to individuals and families who face challenges due to ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (high functioning) and learning disabilities. With a focus on support for symptoms rather than diagnoses and cause, the primary target for Let’s Do This! is youth & adults who tend to think and learn differently.

Let’s Do This! uses successfully proven activity-based programs to provide one-on-one and small group sessions in: Social Skills, based on Michele Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking model, Emotional Regulation, based on Zones of Regulation, Edu-Therapeutics (Mind Builder), developed by Dr. Joan Smith, Fast ForWORD based on Scientific Learning as well as Self-Esteem Building and Ongoing parent support.

Each program is specifically tailored to meet individuals’ needs. The overriding aim is to uplift, build confidence in learning, and uncover ways to meet one’s highest potential.

Let’s Do This! is led by Sally Kaplan, a specialty educational service provider with over twenty years of experience teaching elementary school children through college-age and adults. Sally trained then served as Educational Service Coordinator at Mind Matters Clinic working with similar community members in need for over five years. She is also currently the longest standing active mentor at the Calaveras Youth Mentorship Program.

Let’s Do This fits within the Blue Mountain Community Renewal Council’s Vision Statement to work cooperatively to improve our communities, demonstrate respect for people of all ages, and strengthen and increase the well-being of our residents.
